We are moving to Flisvos Hotel on the waterfront today but check in isn't til 1230.
Our apartment is fine, nice having the modern bathroom and separate bedroom, the AC works well, it is quiet. But that hill is a big negative - sidewalks are narrow and uneven, even the locals walk on the road but the road is so narrow that only one car fits even though it's a two way street. I cut up the orange and pomegranate I had picked - the orange was amazing, so picked two more - so sweet, unbelievable.
Super hot again and of course the sun is higher. Stopped by our regular place for coffee and tried to waste time. I left my fleece on a street corner, hope someone who needs it finds it. It will be nice for December here.
Got to the hotel at noon and got our room right away, nice, we look out on the courtyard so it will be quiet and our patio is nice too l.

Off to the beach but stopped at a seaside cafe for a drink and some tzatziki - really good! So beautiful looking at the harbour it was difficult to leave. In the shade by the water there is a little breeze so comfortable.

It's after 1 when we get to the loungers and umbrellas and it is Saturday so there are more people but not that crowded and we got beds that were shaded by umbrellas. Today I am wearing a bathing suit so I went in - the water feels cold but refreshing and super salty.
Then I was happy to lounge and dry off. Jeff spent 30 minutes in the water. We went back to the room for awhile, then to another seaside bar for a drink.

Back to the beach and by now it's five pm and although lots of people are still sunbathing very few are in the water. Jeff swam for another half hour.
Our room here seems to be the nicest we have had especially when you factor in location. They charge an additional 3 E - some kind of tourist tax. We get breakfast here also.
We have had a sun drenched day but it wasn't exhausting. I actually dressed up for dinner and wore lipstick, this may be the most civilized I have felt since we left home. It is warm but not hot we just went to a hole in the wall cafe just outside the beach area and ate pork gyros - huge, have sauce, onions and tomatoes and french fries as well as the pork - really filling. I forgot my phone in the room as these gyros were worth a picture. Drat.
It was starting to get dark in Sitia by the Sea. I have been sitting on the patio. This is my view of the courtyard:
